"McGonigal" scandal/ SP accepts the opposition's request for the
ASSEMBLY

Today, the Conference of Speakers approved the opposition's request to hold a debate motion with Prime Minister Edi Rama on the "McGonigal" scandal in the Assembly.

The head of the socialist parliamentary group Taulant Balla stated that he has proposed that the debate take place for 12 hours, but the date when it will take place has not been set yet.

"I salute the petitioning MPs who have understood our only condition that if it is Berisha's signature it will not be accepted. The fact that they have withdrawn it shows that they have reflected on the condition. The motion with debate will take place, it remains to be determined in the following days with the leaders of the groups as defined by the rules of the assembly.
That there was also a funny element that said motions with debate should take place without a limit, that is, start in February and end in December. The conference of presidents will determine the exact time and when. You brought it without Berisha's signature the request is approved and it was approved, now it remains to determine how long the debate will be. I proposed 12 hours of debate, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Each MP should have 5 minutes of time to speak.

Will it be Rama? Keep calm, the prime minister, Rama, has no worries about responding to an issue that has nothing to do with Albania, however, we have been waiting for it and we can't wait to hold this debate. I hope the opposition will agree if they really do, but you have to see if they really want to have a debate, but they will come and say you have changed our core, we don't have 700 minutes, but we want more, you know these stories," stated Balla.

Regarding the opposition's request for the establishment of the Investigative Commission for the "McGonigal" scandal, Balla stated that the request will be reviewed after the law on the Investigative Commissions is changed. Among other things, he claims that some deputies' signatures are forged.

"We discussed at the chairmen's conference, that as a result of the requests received from the deputies of the parliamentary opposition to change the law on investigative commissions, the need to implement 6 decisions of the Constitutional Court on this matter, we decided and then voted in the session with 23 January a special parliamentary commission for changing the law. Therefore, I am saying that the request has not been considered at all, but out of respect for the petitioners, we have requested that this review of the request be done after the legal changes are made.

To dare deputies from the USA where they are for pleasure or for a visit to sign requests that are filed in the Assembly, so that there are deputies who have a signature and signature on one document and a signature and another signature on another document, that the Assembly not to invest in a forgery report withdraw the request or at least the firms. They also have a race to see who deposits it first. "There has never been a more ridiculous situation that two opposition groups are running to see who will submit the request first," said Balla.
