Prime Minister Edi Rama , in his speech during the meeting of the socialist parliamentary group, held today, stated that the judiciary, referring here to SPAK and GJKKO, have violated human rights with investigative processes similar to the methods of the former State Security.

Referring to the arrest of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj and the investigations into the chairwoman of the Laws Commission Klotilda Bushka, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that he will no longer remain silent in the face of the violations and brutality of SPAK and GJKKO against citizens.

"Here we must take responsibility, that today in the public debate there are only two sides, one that applauds and cheers every time the "guillotine" appears, according to that side everyone is for prison, for the rope and to be killed, and the other is the side that attacks the new justice bodies in a gang-like manner and that targets with a house book the prosecutors and judges who do their job, starting with the head of SPAK, who has our support.

But a constructive position is missing, a constructive party is missing that should be a guarantor of the independence of the judiciary, but should also be a guarantor of freedoms, rights, and democratic standards.

For me, it is inconceivable that the chairwoman of the Albanian Law Commission, without going into the merits of the case, without discussing at all whether or not the accusations she includes in that almost 400-page novel are true, finds out about it on television, listening to special journalists who have investigative secrets, who have food that comes to them from the train station to be thrown into the big food market and to be ground up in the streets of hooliganism.

This is unacceptable. Neither yesterday, nor today, nor tomorrow, as long as I am at the head of this political force, this political force will not undertake to grant innocence to anyone who is investigated by justice.

Unacceptable and I will not remain silent from today in the face of flagrant violations of standards and brutality by anyone exercising the consolidated power of independence, as only an idiot or a clown can say that after this, our hands are far from justice, we are not here as fence posts to just report news and provide support, to say nothing when we come across episodes like this, either intentionally or unintentionally.

"What kind of republic are we in here? From the SP group meeting, Edi Rama requested that interrogation sessions by the Prosecutor's Offices be recorded.

"How is it possible, Ulsi and you justice people, that this government majority has approved funds, two funds are in the budget that are completely outside the normal trajectory, the defense and justice funds. Salaries that are not comparable to anyone's salaries here, funds that have never been seen in the history of this country and they still do not have the means to record interviews with the people they are questioning, and at the end they give them a piece of paper. Where are we here. In every film, every time someone goes there to the investigators' room, first they are shown their rights and then the recording is printed. They hold them for hours and give them a piece of paper. Because I tried it once: I was talking and someone was pressing the keyboard. Where are we here? If we had ILD, we have it on paper, but in reality? To see how rights are respected. When you enter there, you are in another republic? Just because there is a prosecutor, is it above you? You are meat that can be torn according to the appetite of one or the other?" said Rama.

From the SP group meeting, Edi Rama gave ILD a slap.

"We have it as an institution on paper, but not in reality," he said as he listed how SPAK did not respect the rights of suspects.
