In his speech to the audience in Fier, Edi Rama once again commented on the protest held in Tirana where thousands of citizens have been gathering outside his office for 10 days.

Stressing that the protest has taken on political elements, as members of new parties are also present, Rama stressed that it is brutal to hold the socialists accountable who have worked tirelessly over the years to make Albania a better place.

The Prime Minister also underlined that it is not the Socialist Party that is destroying birds, while he concluded that within 10 years the number of Dalmatian pelicans has been increasing, thanks to the intervention of the government, which has not allowed the hunting of birds.

"Why did the Dalmatian pelican decide to lay its eggs in Albania? Because hunting was banned for 10 years. And everyone knows this, all the institutions and organizations that deal with this. We have inventories of how forests that had become bird-free territories have been restored, where wolves have also decreased."

There were no flamingos in Albania and this is factual, because the hunting of wild animals that came from other breeding places, had caused all our lagoons, Karavasta where the Dalmatian pelican was massacred, to return to lay eggs much later. Today we have a register of the entire population of birds and animals in Albania. It has multiplied since the time we kept the register.

Gathering today and demanding accountability for a project is legitimate. But accountability is demanded by sitting down and getting the transparency they demand. There is a vital minimum if that protest is a concern for Sazan, Zvërnec, biodiversity, flamingos. The vital minimum is to bring out a group of people and say sit down, that these are people, experts who know what they are talking about.

You can't come and do the technique I know, with negotiations to get me to leave. If you're protesting for the flamingos, there's no point in leaving the government, coming today and brutally demanding justice for a government that created Albania, put it on defense.
