Dr. Erion Dasho, one of the most prominent names in the Democratic Party primaries for the Berat Region, will not be part of the final list of candidates for MPs in the May 11 elections.
In an interview with Boldnews.al, Dasho explained the reasons for the absence of his name on the lists submitted to the CEC. He announced that he had held intensive talks with the leaders of the Democratic Party of Albania about the possibility of running, but had decided to withdraw from the open list, emphasizing that his contribution as a figure from the diaspora would not be appropriate in this format.
" On this list, Democratic Party figures who are in daily contact with members, sympathizers and potential voters of the opposition deserve to run. In the interest of maximizing the DP vote, I withdrew my name from participation in the open list, wishing success to my other colleagues, " said Dasho.
Although he describes the situation as a disappointment, he emphasizes that he will continue to remain a staunch opponent of the Renaissance and will continue his political engagement.
