Prime Minister Edi Rama participated today in the regional conference "Shaping the Future of GovTech" held in Tirana. In his speech, Rama expressed some of Albania's achievements in the digitalization sector, where the services sector towards citizens and businesses stands out, mainly through the e-Albania application.
Rama further stated that work is being done with the United Arab Emirates to transform the securities printing house, where money and securities will be produced and where it will be achieved that citizens will no longer be identified by their identity card but by phone.
'We are preparing and I believe we will sign an agreement with the United Arab Emirates for the transformation of printing presses and securities. To produce not only money, but all types of securities, including everything in the digital world, identification via phone and not through an identity card. By achieving this entire system, we will have a governance that in 2030 will be of a high level in terms of legal standards, citizen and standards of respect for our country in the international arena.'
Another aspect that is expected to change is the monitoring with digital cameras for which work is being done with Artificial Intelligence. Rama emphasizes that digital cameras will also be introduced into classrooms, while on the streets the police will soon become invisible. Artificial Intelligence will also be used for tracking excise goods.
'The next product we are working on is a security product related to road safety that, thanks to a system that many developed countries have of digital cameras, but combined with AI, will be able to monitor in real time everything that happens on the country's roads. Down to the base cell, the schools. There will be a completely different relationship between the citizen and the law, while the police will become invisible on the streets as a result of technology. Also, tracking transactions with AI, which is about to be attached to fiscalization, will make the fight against informality efficient. Large and small companies will be monitored without many physical inspections that make checks. Another in tracking excise goods.'
