The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, addressed young people in particular today in his message for International Human Rights Day.

President Begaj invites them to take an active role in efforts to respect human rights and dignity for a better future.

The President describes the celebration of this day as a moment of reflection, while calling on Albanian society for inclusiveness.

"Each of us, by making our own contribution, can play an essential role in respecting fundamental rights and freedoms," says, among other things, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Bajram Begaj.

“December 10, International Human Rights Day, serves as a reflection on our approach to the principles and fundamental rights of citizens. 

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted and proclaimed on December 10, 1948, recognized the fundamental rights and freedoms for every human being, without distinction of any kind, such as race, color, sex, language, religion, national or social origin, political opinion, property or other status.

The Declaration serves as a guide for nations and member states.

Each of us, by making our own contribution, can play an essential role in respecting fundamental rights and freedoms.

But, on this day, I especially invite young people to be its bearers and bearers, valuing every right we enjoy as human beings, starting with respect for others, accepting people as they are.

By respecting, supporting and promoting human rights, you, dear young people, will build a better and more peaceful society."
