As the National Assembly of the Democrats continues in a manner intertwined with speeches and votes, Democratic leader Sali Berisha, in a statement to the media after the vote for the new members of the Democratic Council, said that the candidates on the lists represent Albania's political elite.
According to him, this makes the choice difficult because "the candidacies are excellent."
"I am convinced that these lists represent a true political elite of Albania, they represent a renewal in the spirit of this assembly. The lists are among the most dignified, but the multitude of candidacies makes the choice difficult. Because there are excellent candidacies. I was late because there are 3 categories, they have divided them this time in the voting separately for men, for women and for young people. I think they have acted correctly so that their quota is respected. I hope that women reach 40% and it is a statutory obligation and that young people are as present as possible. Renewal means vision, modernity and a stronger organization. From the section to the top, there will be renewal ," said Berisha.
