Kryetari i Partisë Demokratike, Sali Berisha, gjatë fjalës së tij në Kuvendin Kombëtar, deklaroi se e kishte ditur që forca politike që drejton do të përballej me sfida të mëdha dhe beteja të vështira, por theksoi se besimi tek demokratët nuk është lëkundur asnjëherë.

Berisha pranoi se gjatë jetës dhe karrierës së tij politike ka bërë gabime, duke nënvizuar se askush nuk mund t’u shpëtojë gabimeve, por e rëndësishme është korrigjimi i tyre. Megjithatë, Berisha theksoi se në një aspekt nuk ka gabuar kurrë: besimin ndaj anëtarëve dhe mbështetësve të Partisë Demokratike.

Ai e cilësoi PD-në si një parti të ndërtuar mbi vlera dhe parime, duke shtuar se ajo nuk mund të blihet apo të shitet. Mes të tjerash Berisha tha se tani do përmbysim edhe diktaturën e Edvin Ballukut, duke ironizuar kryeministrin Rama dhe Belinda Ballukun.

"This party is for values, it is not sold or bought. Every time we fall, we get up again, " said Berisha.
