German Bundestag member from the CDU, Peter Beyer, made a statement at the National Assembly of the Democratic Party, through an online message, saying that the time has come for big decisions and for a new reorganization in the party's leadership.
"You have a very important party congress. Make big decisions, elect a new board, a new chairman, a new president. I have some ideas about who it could be, but I will keep my mouth shut. Your Albania faces a very big challenge, the path towards the European Union. You are currently the most important opposition and the expectations from the CDU and Europe are very high. There is no time for internal conflicts, but only for a focus on European integration. Now is the time for unity for a single goal, the integration of the country into the EU", said Beyer.
In his speech, Beyer stated that, although he could not be physically present at the congress due to other commitments, he feels close to the Democrats and follows developments within the party with interest, while he stated that he and his party have high expectations for the Democratic Party and its role in Albania's European integration process, and according to him, this is an important moment for unity and concentration on a single objective.
