The economy, the increase in salaries and pensions, the support of families, young people and farmers, as well as the strengthening of domestic production, will be at the heart of the Democratic Party's program. Democratic leader Sali Berisha promised during his speech in the National Assembly the approval of the living wage

Berisha also stressed an uncompromising fight against organized crime and corruption, while accusing the government of links to crime. He pledged zero tolerance for gangs and to strengthen the law and the police.

According to him, Albania is being harmed by corruption and organized crime, while the DP aims to restore the market economy, reduce poverty and improve the standard of living at the regional level.

Excerpt from Berisha's speech at the DP National Assembly

But first, we will provide a decisive response to extreme poverty in this blessed country, a country with natural wealth and other assets greater than any other country for its size.

So let's return to those who count the bites.

The living wage, doubling and tripling pensions, with an objective, I'm not saying that we will catch up with Germany, that we will catch up with Italy or France, but I'm saying that we will come out on top of the region in terms of salaries and pensions because we have been, because we were.

So, our vision is the best-paid Albanians and I guarantee all salaried workers in this country that they will be paid better than everyone else in this region.

I assure the little ones of Albania that today in this drug regime, in this authoritarian dictatorship, the most numerous and most innocent victims are those whose first and greatest care will be for them.

That with child support payments and the living wage, no child will be threatened in Albania. No!

Not only children, but mothers, half-pay ends with maternity leave. Full salary for the entire period.


For young Albanians, the DP with its program has only one goal and among the most important, their dream to be built in Albania.

But for their dream to be built in Albania, they want studies, they want employment, they want housing.

We pledge absolute priority in our attitude towards them.

Farmers, who are now passively abandoning their farms due to bankruptcy, I guarantee that those who provide 20 percent of this country's production and receive only 0.19 percent as if they were 19th century slaves, will have state support and subsidies of the highest level, four to five times higher than the highest level that exists in the region.

Without a doubt, the economy in our vision will be the foundation of the program.

Friends, we established a market economy in Albania.

We did a lot of things for market freedom.

We are the political force with the lowest fiscal burden in Europe and we will remain so.

We will destroy the market economy and restore the market economy.

Edi Rama me lobistët e tij të korruptuar përpiqet ta qortojë, pse flasim për narkoekonomi, pse flasim për narkoshtet.

Cilitdo shqiptari të ndershëm, cilitdo miku të Shqipërisë i kërkoj njerëzisht të kontrollojë, në cilin shtet në planet euro dhe dollari kanë thyer qafën më shumë, kanë rënë për tokë më shumë? Mund të mendojnë se ajo është Kolumbia. Mund të mendojnë se është Peruja. Jo, apo Meksika. Jo, jo! Shqipëria! Shqipëria e Rama-Dushkut, ka një rënie 32% të euros dhe dollarit. Ne insistuam dhe u thamë miqve, partnerëve tanë se Edi Rama zgjedhjet i ka shndërruar në farsë. Dhe ua faktuam! Janë dy libra me 2500 faqe, me fakte, dokumente, video që tregojnë shëmtinë e farsës elektorale në Shqipëri. Ne nuk tërhiqemi!

Ne do u faktojmë miqve tanë, se kjo është një narkodiktaturë, se ekonomia e Shqipërisë po shkatërrohet nga droga, se treguesi i ndërtimit, tre herë më i lartë se mesatarja e Bashkimit Europian, është tregues i kokainës, se kullat që shihni në Tiranë janë monumente të shëmtuara të kokainës dhe drogës. Pra, edhe këtë betejë do e fitojmë ne!

Dhe këtë betejë nuk e bëjmë vetëm për veten tonë. Jo! Këtë betejë e bëjmë për çdo qytetar të lirë të Europës dhe të botës. Po po! Shqipëria është eksportuesi kryesor i krimit. Është eksportuesi i parë i kanabisit.

Shqiptarët e Edi Ramës, të lidhur me Edi Ramën, janë transportuesit kryesorë të kokainës nga Europa... nga Amerika Latine në Europë. Ata kontrollojnë portet e Durrësit, kontrollojnë vendin. Ata marrin vendime për gjithçka. Zero tolerancë! Me forcën e ligjit do ta shtypim krimin siç e kemi provuar. Kudo që ndodhet, në Tiranë, në Shqipëri, në Ekuador, në Bolivi, në të katër anët, në Britaninë e Madhe, në Gjermani dhe kudo!

Këto banda, këta kriminelë do të japin llogari për krimin e shëmtuar që kryejnë ndaj Shqipërisë dhe kombeve të tjera. A e kemi faktuar ne këtë? E kemi faktuar ne këtë.

Ne në qeverisjet e mëparshme në 18 muaj i vumë para ligjit bandat më gjakësore. Ai fat i pret!

Dje më thoshte një mik, një publicist i njohur amerikan me interesa shumë të veçanta në rajonin... Si do t'ia bëni? Si do t'ia bëjmë thashë? Po ta themi, thashë. Në 2005 e shpallëm si zotim kryesor zero tolerancë ndaj krimit. Dhe natyrisht gazetarët, qytetarët më pyesnin, po me se do i luftosh këto banda?

Dhe unë u përgjigjesha, me policinë! Dhe tani prapë po të më pyesin, me policinë them prapë. Atë kohë, i them mikut tim, tre katër oficerë të lartë të policisë më kërkuan takim. Erdhën në zyrë dhe më thanë zoti kryeministër ne këtyre banditëve u dalim përballë shumë mirë. Por kemi vetëm një kërkesë. Urdhëro, u them unë. Kur ne ta nisim betejën, askush mos na pengojë.

Shikoni miq se cili ishte politika.
