Sali Berisha called on Tropojans and all northerners not to vote for Edi Rama. At an electoral meeting in his hometown, Berisha thanked the people of Tropojan for their role in the fate of the Highlands of Gjakova, but also of all of Albania.

These are elections against a man who has conquered, taken all the powers in his hands and uses them against the citizens. Against a man who has emptied Tropoja like no other invasion. He left every institution. Against a man who, in the first week that he came to power, cut the economic aid for the Kukës region to 20 thousand families. A wild racist! He cut off economic aid only because they did not vote for him in 2013. Tropoja and the north, I say again, have in Edi Rama, after Enver Hoxha and Car Dushan, the fiercest enemy, the most unrestrained racist. No northerner can vote for him. Edi Rama is not given a vote. I say to the socialists of Tropoja that I have respect for them, for standing in the opposition as I have stood myself.", Berisha said.

He invited the citizens of Bajram Curri to vote for Besnik Dusha, whom he called an excellent manager. "Besnik Dusha is a mountaineer who embodies your best qualities, the great love for the Highlands of Gjakova, for its citizens, the unlimited dedication to make possible the most dignified services you deserve, to use your taxes in the most transparent way. Besnik Dusha has a task, that task is to invite Rexh Byberi here in this square, in front of you, and tell him: let's give these citizens an account, take out their pockets, make balances, what have you done and what have I done during the government, to tell them all the thoughts you have. Rexha has turned the municipality into a pit deeper than the Shendelica stream. The appearance of the governors before the citizens is a mandatory legal and moral act.
