The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has published a video message on social networks, through which he raised accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama for fraud over salary and pension increases.

The leading democrat described the bonus for retirees as minimal and ridiculous.

"In his weekly deception monologue, Edi Rama once again tried to convince you that he has significantly increased salaries and pensions. The truth is that the pension bonus for 690 thousand pensioners is among the most ridiculous. It is 2 kilos of tomatoes per month. This is the pension supplement according to the current government. In addition, salaries still remain the lowest salaries in our region, while in 2013, they were the highest salaries in the region. Today, he presented the diaspora convention as a great success. On this occasion, greeting all Albanians of the diaspora, wherever they are, including those who come to this convention, but I emphasize that your host is one of the fiercest enemies of the Albanian nation, of its existence, not in decades, but even more ," said Berisha.

Among other things, the leading democrat blamed the government for mass emigration, referring to Eurostat data. He also questioned the figures for foreign investment and declared that the economy is in decline, with production and exports shrinking.

"So, in this case too, I must add, industrial production is in recession, agricultural production is in recession, exports have dramatically declined. The economy, the growth with which Edi Rama is boasting, is a growth that is dictated entirely by high taxes and the large number of employees on the state payroll ," the democratic leader added.

Earlier, Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke in his podcast about the annual pension increase scheme. The Prime Minister explained that a new way of saving for retirement is being created, which will function in addition to the current pension system.

The idea is that each employee can choose to save a small amount from their salary. For this amount, the state or employer will also add the same amount of money. So the contribution is doubled.

This money will accumulate over time and will be added to the pension received from the existing system.
