Prime Minister Edi Rama, from Fier, delivered his speech as part of the Work for Albania program, today, April 11. He accused the opposition of engaging in fabrications and rumors.

"The Socialist Party is the only political force that will join Albania in the European Union. Mud is being thrown against us, as well as against our country. We are close to those people who work, who serve and so on. We must give life to the Socialist Party organization. A lot of work has been done and many results have been achieved. Today, since the economy has grown, we have the opportunity to index salaries and pensions. Today, seniority is recognized. When we took office, the average pension was 86 euros. That is the increase that we give. We will continue to increase salaries and pensions. This has come about because of economic growth. There will be pension increases every year," said Rama.

Rama also spoke about corruption, saying that measurements are made by perception.

"They talk about corruption, saying that it has increased like never before. How is it possible that corruption has increased "where it does not belong" according to them and in the meantime salaries are increasing, pensions are increasing, investments are increasing. Foreign investments were 400 million euros per year and went to 1.6 billion last year. How is it possible that revenues in the state budget have increased? When corruption increases, these should be reduced? It is not possible otherwise. We are getting results from the work we have done and the foundations we have laid. If today we are close to EU membership, it is because of the results," said Rama.

According to him, PPPs in Albania are at the EU average standards and in some cases even higher than EU countries themselves.

"Public Procurement, which is talked about so much and where there are chances of more theft, in fact, according to foreigners, it turns out to be a very successful process. Justice will act, but in Albania corruption does not make the law and corruption does not dictate. I can confront anyone, but with facts, not with perceptions and public trials, because that is how it is difficult to succeed. With perceptions it is difficult to succeed, because there are interests, there are points of view. Those who follow us behind, of course, feel worse and find reasons in the air why we won 83 mandates. The more they accuse, the more we win", said Rama.
