The former leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, today made strong accusations against the government of Sali Berisha, before 2013.
During a meeting with young democrats in Berat, Basha said that for 10 years he has been denouncing the oil affairs in Albania, but added that this has not increased the credibility of the citizens of the DP, as he said "we have not talked about our oil corruption", which has enriched a handful of people.
"I was coming from the Dumre road and passed by the oil fields, there are very old rusty wells there. I remembered the promises that were made to the entire district of Berat by them and by us. There are some constants, some truths that we have not told. I come from a special experience, a year and a few months ago I resigned, and when you take a step back you can see things a little cooler. Because sometimes you get carried away and forget to see what is important. While we raised our finger and denounced for 10 years in a row, rightfully so, the affairs with Albanian oil, we did not talk about our oil corruption. Public money that should have come to Berat but never came, a handful of people got rich", declared Basha.
