The General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, spoke after the meeting of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, where the future of the party was discussed.

Bardhi said that they have a platform, which aims to strengthen PD. Asked if Tabaku has accepted the position to lead the DP, Bardhi said that Tabaku is the party's highest-ranking functionary.

"The meeting to assess the situation in the DP. It is the only body within the DP that has called for unity and no division in the DP. I do not prejudge any decision of the DP. This is neither a one-sided issue nor stubborn. It must for the DP to become an alternative governing force for the next elections. I have a duty and responsibility for leading the party. The names of the leadership, each of your colleagues is familiar with the list of members of the leadership. Alibeaj was not present today. At the last meeting there was present. There is a statutory obligation, what I can tell you is that the highest leading functionary of the party at the moment is Tabaku." - said Bardhi.

He also added that the parliamentary group offered to provide a solution to the situation of division within the party.

"The parliamentary group has offered to find an election. Then everyone makes their own solution in the interest of the democrats or that does not serve them. There has always been communication between me and my colleagues. I have had and maintain correct professional relations with each of them. Do we discuss with each other every time we meet what is the best way to advance the PD, yes definitely", said Bardhi.

Among other things, he said that very soon the platform that aims to strengthen the Democratic Party will be public very soon.

"You will find out the details very soon. The platform only aims to strengthen the DP. Our task is to make a stronger, modern party that responds to the interests of Albanians. The platform will be public. You will see whether or not there are red lines. I have no qualms about sitting down with anyone within the DP to see eye to eye, to discuss what is the best way to move the DP forward. The headquarters is not an environment that forces meetings to be held there. Each of the colleagues is invited to participate in the parliamentary group. Today, for example, because we were in plenary session, we held the meeting in the offices of the plenary session. When the party is ready in accordance with the statute, it will have its chairman. If it will be an individual or collegial chairman, the statute states that it must be individual, if we change the statute, it will be another chairman. The board meeting will be tomorrow.",Bardhi said, among other things.

POSITION OF THE PARLIAMENTARY GROUP OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Analyzing with maximum responsibility the result of the elections of May 14 and the consequences that this result has brought for the future of Albania and the public interest;

Being aware of what Albanian citizens and members of the Democratic Party in particular expect from their representatives and the Democratic Party;

Being in front of a government that has undermined free and fair elections, through illegal methods, that can only be overcome through the engagement of the silent majority of Albanians who have lost faith in politics;

Duke vijuar në të njëjtën linjë konstruktiviteti, që ka në themel vetëm interesin më të mirë të Partisë Demokratike dhe të Shqipërisë, siç është vepruar edhe me qëndrimet e Grupit Parlamentar të datave 22 Mars 2023, 16 Prill 2022, 31 Tetor 2022 apo 6 mars 2023;

Duke qëndruar të palëkundur në bindjen se partneriteti strategjik me Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës, Britaninë e Madhe dhe vendet e Bashkimit Europian, është e vetmja rrugë për forcimin e Partisë Demokratike;

Duke ripërsëritur apelin se lufta e brendshme në Partinë Demokratike dobëson opozitën dhe se situata kërkon që secili të tejkalojë interesin e vet ngushtësisht personal, për të ofruar dhe gjetur zgjidhje në interes të përbashkët të të gjithë opozitarëve dhe çdo qytetari të ndershëm që pret dhe kërkon ndryshimin në vend;

GRUPI PARLAMENTAR I PARTISË DEMOKRATIKE, SHPREH QËNDRIMIN SI MË POSHTË:

1. Ndasitë në mendime dhe qëndrime për çështje të ndryshme brenda Partisë Demokratike nuk duhet të shfokusojnë partinë nga misioni i saj për t’u bërë alternativë qeverisëse. Në këtë kuadër, është emergjente ndërprerja e menjëhershme e çdo sulmi, shpifje apo gjuhe urrejtje ndaj çdo anëtari të partisë apo cilido që mendon ndryshe.

2. Riorganizimi i Partisë Demokratike të Shqipërisë, me synim bashkimin e demokratëve, forcimin e partisë dhe ndërtimin e një partie moderne, gjithëpërfshirëse dhe që krijon besimin tek shumica e qytetarëve shqiptarë, duke angazhuar dhe afruar individë me reputacion dhe që i shërbejnë mbrojtjes së interesit publik.

3. Krijimin e një grupi pune përbashkues për ndjekjen dhe realizimin e procesit të riorganizimit, sipas një plani të qartë, transparent dhe gjithëpërfshirës, që ndjek këto hapa:
– Hapi i parë: Hapja e partisë dhe certifikimi i anëtarësisë aktuale;
– Hapi i dytë: Fillimi i procesit të zgjedhjeve në nivel seksioni, grupseksioni dhe dege;
– Hapi i tretë : Procesi i zgjedhjes së kryetarit të Partisë.

4. Grupi i Punës që bën edhe drejtimin politik ngre grupe pune në nivel qarku për nisjen e një fushate ndërgjegjësuese në bazë me qëllim bashkimin mes demokratëve, si dhe fuqizimin dhe organizimin e partisë pa asnjë paragjykim dhe duke shmangur çdo rrethanë apo faktor ndarës.

5. The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party does not support any hasty, one-sided organizational process that promotes division and deepens divisions within the Democratic Party. The process should only aim at strengthening and eliminating destructive debates within the party. For this purpose, assistance, support and consultation with European People's Parties and sister parties should be attempted.
