Bamir Topi casts doubt on silent pact between SP and DP: They combined votes
Bamir Topi

Bamir Topi says that the opposition and its representatives are happy with the figures produced by the electoral process 19 days ago.

The former head of state assessed the stance of the DP leader, Sali Berisha, after the elections as confirmed hypocrisy, since, as Topi added, the democratic leadership knew the epilogue of May 11.

Topi's advice to the DP and the Democrats was to finally end the spiritual-political relationship with Sali Berisha.

"There is a hypocrisy already confirmed by Sali Berisha for what he demonstrates in the days after the elections. Not in a personal sense, but there is a display of hypocrisy. The man who knew and perceived the result in a very realistic way, is him. This is where the belief ends that every person, democrat, free man in his elections, the gray part, moreover intellectuals, if they have a little sense of analysis, should definitively close the spiritual political relationship with Sali Berisha. It is not a matter of a personal relationship, they are left behind, but I am talking here about the public interest, the public interest is not only on the day you vote, but the public interest is behind, whether you are politically represented or not, whether promises are fulfilled or not, whether trust in institutions is restored or not, is this a state of parties or of the individual... While it should be, the political parties in Parliament build the state of everyone. The fact that Albanian society is divided, even in those who are divided in almost equivalent elections, shows 2 things, first this system "It doesn't work and on the other hand it shows that this state is no longer of the citizens but is the state of political interests and people connected to politics, " says Topi in an interview with News 24.

Bamir Topi casts doubt on silent pact between SP and DP

"The bargain continues"! This is what former President Bamir Topi says as he analyzes the May 11 parliamentary elections, raising doubts about a silent pact between Edi Rama and Sali Berisha.

He brought to attention the unification of the votes of the representatives of the SP and the DP in the Complaints and Sanctions Commission, where the requests of 4 DP candidates for a recount of the nominal votes were rejected. Ilir Alimehmeti, Aulon Kalaja, Mimoza Hajdarmataj and Lisandër Hoxha claimed irregularities and votes diverted to other candidates. The decision of the KAS, former head of state Bamir Topi calls as a continuation of the bargain between Rama and Berisha.

Was the DP's program inspiring, to attract voters and get votes?

Bamir Topi: I want to explain, but I'm afraid I won't be understood. Some understand. Here is the issue of a dominant. Who is the dominant? So, what is the dominant, the program, the political life of a party, or the dominant of what these two have cooked up? Choose the name of a world-famous personality, bring it to Albania to run in the elections with this electoral code, be sure that he will leave ashamed. So, not these two, Edi Rama and Sali Berisha are aware of what they have done. You saw what happened yesterday to make the story more concrete, some voices coming from the DP demanding a re-reading of the result, were practically defeated by joint votes of the SP and the DP in the KAS. So, the bargain continues. If it were the title of an editorial to give the physiognomy of the elections, it would be: "The bargain continues"! And when the bargaining continues and someone is in their 4th term and someone is in the next defeat, I say that the second one who is in defeat welcomes it because he has taken the monopoly of the opposition. Do you think he is desperate? That's why I say there is hypocrisy.

Press conferences every day, around noon, for Mr. Berisha and issuing verbal and visual denunciations of what has happened during this campaign and the electoral process. How do you read these denunciations, Mr. Topi?

Bamir Topi: Hypocrisy. The whole leitmotif of this conversation when we talk about the opposition is the hypocrisy of the leader of the DP. If it were true, he would have been encouraged yesterday in the KAS to give voice to the deputies who complain about vote theft. The phenomenon of theft does not come only from the other party, but also from within. Hypocrisy must end. These public voices that emerge give people the opportunity to come to their senses, to come to their senses. But it does not fit into any kind of analysis you make, in 35 years of constantly complaining after every election and before the elections saying that we will guarantee the vote. Who can we believe? Is this some promotional activity, a merchant who advertises a product and then runs away and disappears? No, this story does not fit anymore.
