The Democratic Party's candidate for deputy in the May 11 elections, Myslim Murrizi , has reacted after the statement of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who asked him to speak with clear names when talking about arrests within the DP and making assumptions.

In a reaction on Facebook, Murrizi states that he had privately mentioned three names to Berisha in July 2023, and according to him, two of them are in prison today.

For the third, he warns of an arrest in September, although he does not reveal the name.

"I am neither Aranit Çela, nor Rrapi Mino, nor Alush Dragoshi, Arben Rakipi, Dhori Sollaku, Ina Rama, Ben Kraja or Altin Dumani. But, unfortunately Doctor, of the three names I told you in July 2023, two are in prison today. The third will not make it to September. I did not put these people in prison, but their greed," writes Murrizi.

The former DP MP also criticizes the DP's political leaders who, according to him, have not even managed to get the 2021 votes in the last elections.

Murrizi demands their resignation and surrender of their mandates, as according to him they are holding the opposition hostage.

"I don't rejoice when I hear about arrests, but whoever has stolen Albanians' money and has benefited millions from the government should not rejoice. For the good of the Democrats and the opposition, all leaders who have received a weaker result than in 2013, 2017 or 2021, should leave every function in the DP and hand over their mandates. They have bargained a lot with Rama for their personal interests," says Murrizi.

He further claims that several branch chairmen, preferred by the DP Presidency, have boycotted his campaign, but despite this, he expresses confidence that he will be in the Assembly in September.

"Yes, Myslim Murrizi will be in Parliament thanks to the pure and spiritual vote of 7,289 citizens and democrats of the Tirana district. I have not bought or lobbied for a single vote. Those who pretend to 'kill' themselves in politics actually get along well with each other. Now wait and see!", he concludes.
