The chairman of the Mundësia party, Agron Shehaj, was attacked today by his opposition colleagues while blocking the podium.
Shehaj expressed his outrage at the way Flamur Noka pushed him, while saying that opposition MPs did not let him speak against Minister Belinda Balluku and the oligarch Bashkim Ulaj who built the Thumanë-Kashar road, which Shehaj describes as a corrupt affair.
Shehaj accuses Minister Belinda Balluku of having time to dance and money to spend on SP parties, but not for the interpellation on the Thumanë-Kashar scandal, which she has been avoiding for 6 months.
"I called Balluk to demand an account for 1.3 billion euros. For that citizen who comes from the North to go to Durrës, he has to pay 5 thousand lek each way for a 20 km road that if they were tendered with the EU, it would not be that much. They have insulted the cost," he said from the Parliament's rostrum, Shehaj said.
Meanwhile, Gazment Bardhi, who has come out many times to accuse Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, today came out against Shehaj.
After the clash with Shehaj, he asked the Speaker of the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, not to accept the request for an interpellation from the leader of the Mundësia Party, because an interpellation was held once for the "Thumanë-Kashar" road in September.
"The Albanian gang allowed this in the parliament. They allowed a deputy to be raped inside the parliament premises. When there is a real opposition, when they talk about the thefts of Rama and the oligarchs, everyone works together to prevent this from happening. I wanted to talk about the thefts that have been committed against Albanians.
"I had a relationship with the DP that unfortunately broke down, as they probably didn't agree with me forming a real opposition. I wanted to talk about the 1.3 billion euro affair, it's a big part of the budget... clearly our paths are parting ways," Shehaj said after the incident.
Bashkim Ulaj Concession
The new Thumanë-Kashar highway, with a length of 21 kilometers, cost 251 million euros. Meanwhile, in the 35 years of the contract duration, the concessionaire Gener 2 and G2 Infra of businessman Bashkim Shehaj, expects to earn 1.3 billion euros. From 2024 to 2031, the private company has a guaranteed profit, as it is foreseen that in case of a decrease in the level of income, 22.8 million euros of guarantees have been made available from the state budget. The category A highway, from January 2025, will be subject to a toll, the value of which will depend on the type of vehicle, but which will not be lower than 2.1 euros. This fee will be calculated annually, and the private company will be able to increase it depending on the fluctuations of the lek-euro exchange rate.
