The head of the parliamentary group in the Socialist Party, Niko Peleshi , has given a statement to journalists, where he was asked about Ervin Salianji's 1-year prison sentence, as well as the expected action of the opposition.

Peleshi said that the socialists are engaged in parliamentary life, and that the meetings and sessions will continue normally, despite various calls for a blockade by the opposition.

"We are in front of a parliamentary session on Thursday, I want to confirm that we will closely follow the parliamentary life and the committees. The SP and all its MPs have been intensively on the ground, also within the framework of the elections".

"Today, the European Affairs Commission was held, a few opposition MPs participated in the meeting. There are other commissions that are continuing, we will continue the parliamentary life".

"We have no reason to prejudge it, so far there is no blocking scenario, so that it is necessary to gather commissions online. We did not understand the statement of the opposition well, we do not understand the word blockage of institutional relations with the majority".

Insistently asked by journalists if he had a comment on the arrest of Salianji, Peleshi did not give an answer, claiming that the SP does not question the decisions of the courts.

Although this rule was actually broken by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who made some comments about Salianji's case.

"You know that we do not comment on court decisions. We haven't done this with our colleagues either, don't ask me to comment on a final court decision. We all worked together for this day. It's not about the protection of colleagues, about the issue you ask (Olta Xhaçka), we had ambiguity, and for this we asked for the opinion of Venice".

“I'm not here to give my personal opinions, if you invite me to your counters… it's not meant to be offensive. I didn't say kazan, even though this word can be used in some cases".
