Deputy Edi Paloka took the floor today in the Integration Commission after the speech given by the chairwoman Jorida Tabaku and the representative of the majority, Niko Peleshi.
The democratic lawmaker announced the reasons why DP had undertaken its new initiative, to boycott the Commissions, listing according to him the violations of the majority and the fact that Albania is not ready for EU membership.
Paloka recalled that they were not against the integration process, but that they were in front of a narco-state. Paloka openly attacked the new justice system as the cause of the recent political situation, referring to the imprisonment of opposition leaders.
" Edi Rama's Albania does not meet any of the EU conditions. Unfortunately, it does not meet any of the EU criteria we are currently talking about, when the opening of negotiations is also expected. Electoral reform, the conditions of which have not been met for 11 years and the regime does not allow equal elections in Albania, even though OSCE-ODIHR requests them ", said the democratic deputy.
He also mentioned the fact that " citizens wander to the courts, with 138,000 pending files, where they face this reality ". He said that a citizen needs 14.6 years for a civil process and 10 years for a criminal process at the doors of reformed justice.
He also attacked the new justice.
" This justice caught in the hands of Edi Rama. Today, on the eve of the elections, all the leaders of the opposition parties are under arrest, persecution or in criminal cases by this reformed justice system. Fredi Beleri was arrested and bailed and was elected MEP while in prison. Another colleague of ours two days ago (Ervin Salianji), just like Fredi Beleri, was taken to prison without witnesses and evidence , said Paloka.
