The National Council of the Democratic Party has announced that the announced protest will be moved to October 7, Monday.
Edi Paloka announced to the democrats that the call for citizens is to protest starting from the Prime Minister's Office and then in all the streets of the capital.
Earlier, the opposition protest was announced for October 6, Sunday, while just a little earlier a change of plans was reported.
The President of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, said in the opening speech of the National Council that the democrats will have to attack using all means of civil disobedience.
Decision of the National Council of DP:
The constitutional order has fallen and the balance between powers has been destroyed. In Albania, a single person, the Prime Minister, has accumulated all power in his hands. It has destroyed free and fair elections, through the 11-year blocking of a meaningful Electoral Reform, not reflecting any of the OSCE-ODIHR Recommendations. The violation of the equality of the parties in the elections and the denial of the right to a neutral Technical Government for the next elections, aim to deform the will of the citizens and forcefully obstruct the political rotation. Edi Rama uses the Parliament, the judiciary and the media to maintain his personal power and to economically ruin the Albanian citizens.
The majority in the Parliament refuses to implement the decisions of the Constitutional Court to hand over his collaborators to justice. The leader of the opposition and the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has been under unconstitutional house arrest for almost a year through a file fabricated by the SP, without facts, without witnesses, obstructing his political activity by force and without law. MEP Fredi Beleri was elected while in prison, after being arrested two days before the elections, after a public smear campaign by the prime minister and after an expected victory for him as mayor. No evidence was presented against him and he was not allowed to take the oath after winning the elections, because the prime minister sees the South of Albania as a private property to be enriched through corruption.
This week, the deputy chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, deputy Ervin Salianji, was imprisoned in a political trial, because he denounced the connections of drug traffickers with the Albanian government, namely the brother of the interior minister. Imprisoning a deputy without law and evidence is a political message for the silence of the opposition, its annihilation and the execution of freedom of expression. For this reason, the National Council of the Democratic Party: Monday, October 7, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., invites Albanian citizens to come together in Tirana, to react against injustices with the sole author Edi Ramë. Disagreeing with injustice is the mission of every honest Albanian citizen. Disagreement with evil starts from the Prime Minister's Office and extends that day to all the streets of Tirana.
