A new planet similar to Earth is discovered

A new planet, very similar to Earth, has been discovered, located just 19 light years away.

It will serve above all as a laboratory for research into extraterrestrial life, thus helping to test new hypotheses thanks to its ideal characteristics.

It is the planet HD 20794 d, slightly larger than Earth, orbits a star similar to the Sun, and completes its rotation in 647 days.

Various telescopes have observed this celestial body over the past 20 years, and now the discovery and results have been published in the journal Astronomy and Astrophysics by an international working group.

According to them, what makes this planet extremely interesting and suitable for testing is its position, which falls within the characteristics of the habitable zone, meaning that liquid water can exist, a necessary condition for the development of life as we know it.
