Renowned Portuguese footballer Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva died on July 3 in a tragic car accident in northern Spain, just days after Jota married his childhood sweetheart Rute Cardoso. 

The tragic event shocked public opinion and the football world, while leaving behind a devastated family. Diogo Jota had been married for a short time to his partner, Rute Cardoso. He was the father of three young children: two sons, Denis and Duarte, and a daughter born in November 2024, whose name has not yet been made public. 

On the pitch, Jota was one of Liverpool's main stars and contributed to winning the Premier League title in the 2024–2025 season, thus marking the fourth trophy with "The Reds". Just two months after this success, he tragically lost his life. 

According to sources such as "Celebrity Net Worth" and "Capology", Jota's net worth at the time of her death was estimated at around 15.3 million euros. 

He earned an annual salary of €5.9 million and had potential bonuses of up to €1.65 million, while income from sponsors such as Nike and EA Sports amounted to around €1.18 million. He was also involved in e-sports, where he had generated over €2.3 million through investments and active participation. 

The Portuguese footballer owned a luxury villa in Lisbon worth around 2.35 million euros and several high-class vehicles. 

According to Spanish media reports, the accident occurred after a tire on the Lamborghini Huracan burst during a high-speed overtaking maneuver, causing the car to overturn and burst into flames. 

Authorities have confirmed that the tire was not the sole cause of the accident and investigations into the full circumstances are ongoing. 

The loss of Diogo Jota has been deeply saddened by both his family and the football world, while Liverpool have promised continued support for his family during these difficult times.
