What makes a person attractive? Although beauty is often considered a matter of taste, a new study suggests that there are certain traits that are valued similarly by many people.

Scientists analyzed more than 600 faces with the help of 3D scanning technology, with the aim of understanding which features are perceived as most attractive in women and men.

According to the results, women are more likely to be attracted to thinner faces, fuller lips, and sharper facial features. However, the researchers emphasize that attractiveness is not related to a single feature, but to the harmony between different facial elements.

As examples of faces that come close to this model, the study cites actress Margot Robbie and model Elsa Hosk.

For men, the characteristics that were rated most attractive were compared to those of actor Henry Cavill and model David Gandy.

The study also touches on the importance of first impressions. According to researchers, people form an initial opinion about someone in just one-tenth of a second. This assessment is not only related to physical appearance, but also affects perceptions of a person's trustworthiness, competence, and intelligence.

The study authors also point out that, in general, women's faces are rated as more attractive than men's. According to Eugen Wassiliwizky, lead author of the study from the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Frankfurt, women themselves tend to rate other women as more attractive, while men's faces receive similar and generally lower ratings from both sexes.
