Renowned comedian and mayor of Kolonja, Erion Isai , has publicly confirmed his separation from his wife, Ajlin Petrela , after 12 years of marriage. The couple, who met while studying at the Academy of Arts, are parents to two daughters, Ajër and E'dua.

Through a reaction on social media, Isai explained that the separation had occurred a long time ago, while the divorce became official in April 2024.

" Yes! My two-year marriage has ended! In the interest of the media and public opinion, as an artist and holder of a high office, as of April 2024, with mutual agreement and principles, a new personal chapter has officially and legally begun!" he writes.

In his statement, Erioni adds that he is disappointed by the publication of court decisions that, according to him, have no public interest and harm privacy, especially when minor children are involved.

"It's unfortunate to publish court decisions that have no public interest, no reason to be published, especially when there are two little girls behind them."

However, Erion Isai emphasizes that despite the changes in his personal life, he remains committed to his duties as a father and mayor.

" For two years, I have been dedicating myself to the most beautiful duty in the world; that of a father, and I am breaking down to do it even better than before! An assessment that only Ajër and E'dua can give! I continue to be guided in my life (as an artist and acting) by passion, love and dedication! I hope that I succeed every day!", he concludes.
