The elephant protects the wounded lion: He drives away the hyenas who wanted to attack him

During a trip to South Africa, photographer Morne du Plessis captured an extraordinary naturalistic moment. While in the Kruger National Park, the photographer managed to film the moment an elephant ran after two hyenas who were trying to attack a lion that had been injured.

It is unclear whether to protect the lion or to avoid predators from the herd of elephants, the elephant has started chasing the hyenas and running after them, driving them away from the area.
