Five people have died and more than 1,000 buildings have been destroyed by massive fires sweeping Los Angeles.
The homes of many stars have been destroyed, including Billy Crystal, Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, Eugene Levy, Anna Faris, Cary Elwes, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, James Woods, Diane Warren, Cameron Mathison, Ricki Lake, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody.
Actors Leighton Meester and Adam Brody were celebrating at the Golden Globes a few days ago, where the latter was nominated for the Netflix film, "Nobody Wants This," according to the BBC.
But the couple are now on the growing list of Hollywood stars who have lost their homes in the fires that broke out in Los Angeles, according to US media reports.
Much of the heart of Hollywood is shrouded in thick smoke, while the streets are engulfed in chaos.
People use sweatshirts to cover their faces so they can breathe. Many are carrying bags and suitcases in search of a place to go. Some are dressed in pajamas, visibly surprised.
Many of the streets near the fire – including the iconic Hollywood Boulevard, which includes the Hollywood Walk of Fame – are blocked by traffic.
Some are even traveling on the wrong side of the road to escape.
But on the outskirts of the legendary city, it seems like nothing is happening. People are having dinner, shopping and enjoying their evenings.
