The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has expressed his gratitude to Germany, which has decided to supply it with 14 "Leopard 2" tanks. In an exclusive interview with Sky News, the Ukrainian president warned that the quantity and time of delivery of vehicles is critical for his country.

"I would like to thank Germany, Britain and the United States for taking this decision. In general, I am very grateful to the world for its support for Ukraine. But honestly, the number of tanks and delivery time to Ukraine is critical," he said.

President Zelensky's remarks come after Germany confirmed it would send additional tanks to Kiev and partner countries authorized to send them, despite threats from Russia.

This means that other countries, such as Poland, Spain and Norway, which have stockpiles of NATO-standard tanks, can now supply them to Kiev.

Yesterday, Moscow warned Berlin that sending the tanks "does not bode well for future relations" and told the US that if it authorized such action, it would be an "open provocation".

The Russian embassy in Berlin condemned the action as an "extremely dangerous decision" and an "escalation" of the conflict.
