Chollet and Kurti

The adviser at the American State Department, Derek Chollet, has announced that he talked with the Kosovar Prime Minister, Albin Kurti. As he announced via Twitter, Chollet asked Kurti that Kosovo accept the European proposal for the normalization of relations with Serbia.

"I spoke with @albinkurti today to discuss the EU's proposal for the normalization of relations with Serbia and to ask Kosovo to accept it. A main topic was our partnership and the common goal of advancing Kosovo's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

"We also discussed the importance of Kosovo's multi-ethnic character and moving forward with discussions on the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities in the context of the Dialogue with Serbia and the need for Kosovo Serbs to return to institutions," Chollet wrote in another reaction.

We recall that on Monday Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic emphasized that Serbia will face serious consequences if it does not agree with the European proposal for the normalization of relations with Kosovo. On the other hand, the government of Kosovo has not yet spoken about these new developments in relation to the Franco-German plan.
