Albania ranks among the four countries with the highest number of unaccompanied minor children seeking asylum in Italy

The year 2022 ended with 1,347 unaccompanied Albanian minors sheltering in immigrant centers in Italy. Albanian minors outnumber those arriving from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Eritrea, etc.

Within the month of December 2022 alone, there are 49 Albanian minors without parents who have sought refuge from the Italian authorities.

Among the 1347 Albanian minors in Italy, 45 are minor girls. The alarming figures that prove that the Albania of 2023 is the place where parents are desperate to save their young children from poverty and the brutality of a reality that does not guarantee a future./ Ora
