New study: Most European men prefer their partner to be unemployed

According to a new study from Great Britain , unemployed men also prefer their partners to be unemployed .

This conclusion was reached after analyzing more than 42 thousand people in 9 countries of the continent.

While unsuccessful men find it very difficult to see their partner achieve, the same does not happen with the latter.

Mostly, this situation applies to Germany, Britain, Spain and Ireland, however the chances are that the phenomenon is widespread throughout Europe.

Based on the conducted surveys, it turns out that men are happier when the woman does not work, just like them, than when the opposite happens.

" Men are raised in such a way that they are seen as the one who keeps the family or the house. They feel very judged if their partner works while they are unemployed. They see it as a shameful thing" , stated Dr. Kowalewska, a social policy lecturer at the University of Bath.

The researchers, who published their findings in the "European Sociological Review", said that " men seem to attach more importance to their employment status than their partners" , adding that  "they prefer their partner to be The unemployed".
