The Special Court passed today for trial, after about a year of suspension, the criminal case against the defendants: Dritan Rexhepi, who is in custody in Ecuador, Gentian Funiqi, arrested in Spain, Geraldo Martini, Aldo Majnishta, Martin Bleta, Korado Geshtenja and Artan Docaj, who are accused of being a structured criminal group for the kidnapping of Jan Prenga.
We remind you that Jan Prenga was kidnapped in Kamez on January 17, 2020 by order of Dritan Rexhepaj and Gentian Funiq.
Why was the hostage taking of Jan Prenga ordered and how was it organized?
SPAK's investigations show that the defendants Dritan Rexhepi, who is currently imprisoned in the state of Ecuador, and Gentjan Funiqi (Doçaj) with criminal records in the field of narcotics, at the end of December 2019 ordered the kidnapping of the victim, Jan Prenga, residing in Kamëz, Albania.
This, because according to them, citizen Astrit Prenga, the victim's brother, stole a quantity of cocaine in the Port of Portsmouth, England, that belonged to them, which was imported from Ecuador to England.
This kidnapping was ordered by them in order for Astriti and other persons to return the narcotics.
While the organization of the kidnapping was carried out by the defendants Martin Bleta and Korado Keshteja, the execution of this kidnapping was carried out in Albania, on 17.01.2020, by the defendants Artan Doçaj, Aldo Majnishta, Geraldo Martini and another unidentified person.
Meanwhile, SPAK says the investigations continue in relation to the identification, collection, and provision of evidence within a complete and comprehensive investigation for the other persons who are involved in this event.
