At least 13 members of a family, including four young children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip this Sunday, according to a relative and journalist Hassan Eslayeh.
The airstrike also killed four other people and wounded 25 others, according to Eslayeh. He also shared with CNN the names of the people who were killed.
Photos and a video shared on social media showed the four toddlers from the Abu Daqqa family wrapped in white cloths in a hospital morgue in Gaza with visible head injuries.
Mohammad Abu Daqqa, a relative, said five residential buildings were destroyed in the Israeli airstrike. Each building was three or four stories high.
"They hit us with two or three explosive rockets and brought down all the buildings," said Abu Daqqa. "We call on the Arab and European countries to intervene ... and the UN to resolve this situation, because we are in a serious situation", added Abu Daqqa.
