The Basic Prosecutor's Office in Kosovo has filed an indictment against the former mayor of the Municipality of Pristina, Shpend Ahmeti.
The prosecution accuses Ahmet of "usurpation of private property", related to an incident that happened some time ago in Germija Park.
At the time when Ahmeti was the mayor of Pristina, he had undertaken an action to carry out some works in that area, but then it turned out that the interventions were carried out in the private property of the citizen Mefail Cakolli.
Cakolli complained that the Municipality had placed concrete blocks on his property, as well as obstacles at the entrance to the property.
In the charge of the Prosecution, it is stated that from 2017 to 2019, Ahmeti, in the capacity of the mayor, illegally damaged Cakolli's property, by placing bentonite pillars around the plot, barriers to vehicle access to the property, while the damage it was also done on the other side, making it impossible for the party to use his property.
For this, Ahmeti is charged with the criminal offense of "Illegal occupation of real property".
