Netflix shares fell 2.3% on Wednesday and were down 0.8% to $1,162 on Thursday. The drop came after Tesla CEO Elon Musk launched a series of posts on the social network "X" urging people to cancel their subscriptions to the streaming platform.
The controversy began Tuesday when Musk responded to a post from a user who said he had canceled his Netflix subscription. "Same," Musk wrote to his 226 million followers.
Musk's criticism focused on the animated series "Dead End: Paranormal Park." The show has drawn the attention of conservative voices online in recent days. The series features children talking about gender transitioning.

"Cancel Netflix for the health of your children," Musk wrote in a follow-up post. He claimed the series was "pushing trans ideology" on children.
Musk also responded to another post that pointed out that the series is advertised for viewers as young as seven. "This is not okay," he wrote.
In another series, The Baby-Sitters Club, doctors are seen referring to a minor boy as a female.
HOLY SHIT. Show on @Netflix "The Baby-Sitters Club" pushes TRANSGENDERISM on KIDS, shames characters for "misgendering" and demands hospital staff refer to and treat a boy as a girl.
