New documents recently released reveal that Jeffrey Epstein feared his phones were being tapped by the British media, specifically by the News of the World newspaper, which was later closed after the major wiretapping scandal in the United Kingdom.

According to emails dated July 2011, Epstein wrote to his lawyer, expressing his belief that his phones had been hacked.

In one of the messages, he says he is certain that the News of the World had tapped his phones. He explains that journalists had contacted people who worked for him just days after they were hired, which led him to suspect that his private communications had been illegally accessed.

In the same email, Epstein suggests seeking help from Scotland Yard (London's metropolitan police), asking British authorities to check all records related to several phone numbers he used in the United Kingdom.

About three weeks later, another email shows that Epstein had begun communicating directly with others about the matter. He wrote to a person identified as “GMax,” telling him that he was in contact with Scotland Yard about the wiretapping scandal and that British police had asked him to hand over all phone numbers in the United Kingdom that might have been tapped. Epstein asked if he wanted his number included on the list.

"GMax"'s answer is short and clear: "Yes, please."

The emails are part of a larger body of documents that are gradually being released that shed light on Epstein's concerns, actions and contacts in the years before his case became a global scandal. They also show that fears of wiretapping were real at the time, especially in the United Kingdom, where several media outlets were found to have illegally wiretapped politicians, public figures and ordinary citizens.

This new development adds another dimension to Jeffrey Epstein's complex story, showing that he was not only at the center of criminal investigations, but also concerned about how the media might have obtained information about his life and activities.
