Lumir Abdixhiku will continue to lead the Democratic League of Kosovo.

Abdixhiku has survived the vote of confidence he requested on Saturday at the party's Assembly.

164 members declared against Abdixhiku's resignation, while 136 members declared in favor of his resignation.

There were divisions within the LDK: some members had publicly expressed support for Abdixhiku, while others had called for his removal from office. Among them was Hykmete Bajrami, who had resigned from the position of party vice-president.

Meanwhile, Abdixhiku described the party's Assembly as an act of political responsibility and confronting the election results, emphasizing that decision-making on the fate of the LDK should be left to the delegates and not take place in television studios or on social networks.

He stated that he called this Assembly himself, without expecting pressure or ultimatums, to openly confront the membership with the political reality and the need for internal reflection.

Abdixhiku took responsibility for the election results and emphasized that decision-making about the party's future does not belong to individuals or public outcry, but only to the LDK Assembly.

Abdixhiku offered his resignation to the party's Assembly on Saturday. Former Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti expressed his willingness to lead the LDK, but the Assembly of this party decided that Abdixhiku should continue as its leader.
