An incident occurred on Tuesday in the Serbian Parliament, when opposition MPs stood up from their seats and set off pyrotechnic devices in the hall.
This came after ruling coalition MPs approved the agenda, which the opposition opposed.
Opposition MPs approached the speaker's desk, activated red and black smoke bombs and unfurled a banner that read "Serbia is rising to overthrow the regime."
The Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty team, present at the scene, reports that smoke from the pyrotechnic devices can also be smelled in the corridors of the assembly.
The Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, Ana Brnabić, confirmed that three MPs have been injured and one of them is in critical condition in hospital, following the chaos that erupted in the Parliament.
Brnabić said the three injured MPs are Jasmina Obradović, Jasmina Karanac and Sonja Ilić, who is eight months pregnant.
The government previously approved the agenda with 62 points, which also includes amendments to the Law on Higher Education.
The latter are a demand of students who have been protesting in Serbia since the deadly collapse of a shelter at the Novi Sad Railway Station on November 1st of last year./ REL
