A helicopter that serves to transport high-ranking Russian officials, including President Vladimir Putin, reportedly crashed while landing near Moscow, reports Interfax.
The helicopter belonged to Russia's Special Forces, which operates helicopters used to transport Russian government officials.
"During the landing, the helicopter caught the propeller on the ground and the tail part was damaged," a source from the airport told the agency.
Helicopters often transport Putin around Russia, supplementing his fleet of Il-96s. The hard landing, according to the media, could have been caused by bad weather or equipment failure. Ukrainian news agency Ukrainska Pravda reported that it was a pilot error.
