Kosovo Police special units protested Saturday near the Kosovo government building in Pristina for the second time in about a month, calling for overall improvement of working conditions and setting out a range of other demands.
The President of the Kosovo Police Union, Imer Zeqiri, said during the protest that the demands of the police are the improvement of working conditions such as clothing, working tools, logistical tools, police facilities, life insurance and permanent addition of risk at work.
"Some police facilities and vehicles, as well as other equipment for performing tasks do not meet the minimum working conditions," he said.
Their protest comes about three weeks after the Kosovo government approved new packages of additions for these special units and all other police units.
Part of the protest were members of the Special Intervention Unit and the Explosives Handling Unit, who had also protested on November 1.
But Zeqiri said they have come out in protest to present demands of all police members "who are here present and all those who are in the performance of official duties."
"I think the protest is inclusive, we have a lot of units. It's a combination of all units," he said.
