The most powerful man in the world in alliance with the richest man / Musk's role in Trump's victory

Shortly after Republican Donald Trump claimed victory in the presidential election Wednesday morning, the president-elect praised his backer, billionaire tech entrepreneur Elon Musk.

After Mr. Trump's victory, the world will see the most powerful man in the world in a close alliance with one of the richest people in the world, who also owns one of the largest social networking platforms.

A UK-based expert says the situation is "unprecedented".

"A star is born," Republican Donald Trump told supporters in Florida shortly after declaring victory in the presidential election.

He wasn't referring to himself, but to his billionaire backer, Elon Musk.

"He is a wonderful man. Tonight we spent time together. He was in Philadelphia for two weeks, in different parts of Pennsylvania campaigning," Mr. Trump said.

It's nothing new to see rich people endorsing politicians, but some experts say the Trump-Musk connection is different.

"I think it's quite unique, not because Musk is an entrepreneur, but because he's a technology entrepreneur who has an impact in a number of different industries. Its influence extends beyond its functions", says Dr. Stephania Alice Baker, Associate Professor of Sociology at City University London.

Entrepreneur Musk has been welcomed as a celebrity by Mr Trump's supporters, including those at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in October.

That made him an important figure in Mr. Trump's campaign, says expert Baker.

"If you analyze his supporters, they are known by the names 'musketeers' or 'muskies'. He is regarded not only as a technology entrepreneur, but as a visionary, a genius. I don't know if we can determine the impact it had on the election. But it's clearly had a big impact on libertarians and tech geeks," says Ms Baker.

During his victory speech on Wednesday morning, Mr Trump praised the moment when Space X's engine successfully captured a rocket launcher in a test run last month.

"It was something beautiful to see. I called Elon and asked him if anyone else could do it and he said no. I asked if China can do it. He told me no! I said can anyone else in the United States do it but you? He told me no, no one can do that. I told him that's why I love you," Mr. Trump said during his speech.

Expert Baker says the success of the SpaceX company aligns with the goals of the MAGA movement.

"If you look at the message of the plans to make America great again, part of the discussion was the idea of ??whether we are the only country that can do one thing, making America great again," she says.

As for the impact of Mr Trump's victory on the X platform, expert Baker says the social network is likely to thrive.
