The Minister of Justice in Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, officially confirmed the arrest of Liridona Murseli's husband, as the suspected author of staging this event.
Haxhiu claims that two people have been taken into custody, while underlining that the victim's husband, Naim Murseli, tried to escape justice by declaring that the murder was the result of a robbery with a gun.
"With intensive work, commitment and cooperation between the police and the prosecutor's office, two people have been arrested who are suspected of murdering a woman in Pristina. One of the arrested persons is the husband of the deceased Liridona, who, according to suspicions, had tried to hide the serious crime by saying that they were the target of a robbery" , she writes.
The Minister of Justice emphasizes that this crime will not go unpunished, and adds that the authorities are still investigating the details of the 33-year-old's murder.
"I highly appreciate the commitment of the police and the prosecutor's office to clarify the circumstances that lead to the disclosure of this serious crime that took the life of the late Liridona. This crime will not go unpunished. Criminals will face justice", she concludes.
The author of the incident and Naim Murseli turn out to be from the same village and have family ties to each other.
The arrest of Naim Murseli, former adviser to the former president of Kosovo, Behxhet Pacolli, comes only a few hours after the funeral ceremony of his wife.
