"Iran's new leader Mojtaba Khamenei has been injured," Iran

Iran has denied reports claiming that the country's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was injured during the recent attacks.

According to an Associated Press report, the son of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Youssef Pezeshkian, categorically denied these claims.

In a post published last evening on the Telegram app, he wrote:

"I heard the news that Mr. Mojtaba was injured. I asked friends who are in contact with him. They told me that, thank God, he is fine and has no problems."

Information about a possible injury to the Iranian leader was first published by the American newspaper The New York Times.

According to this publication, several Iranian and Israeli officials had stated that on the first day of the attack coordinated by Israel and the United States, Mojtaba Khamenei was injured.

Three Iranian officials, quoted by the newspaper, said they had been informed by senior government officials that Khamenei had suffered several injuries, including to his leg. According to them, he was conscious and had taken refuge in a very secure location, where communications are restricted for security reasons.

However, Iranian authorities insist that these claims are not true and that the supreme leader is in good health.
