British Prime Minister falls into trap, exchanges messages with Donald Trump's "assistant"

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has fallen victim to a text message scam. According to Politico.eu , which cites official sources, he received messages from someone claiming to be one of Donald Trump's closest advisers.

The person who communicated with Burnham introduced herself as White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, but the problem lies in the fact that the prime minister communicated with her before suspecting that the contact was illegal.

Downing Street did not comment on the case, saying: “We do not comment on national security matters .” According to a source cited by Politico, the messages were exchanged after the Prime Minister took office in July this year, but insisted they were not “significant.”

While it is learned that the British Embassy in Washington raised the issue with the White House, and within the UK government there were fears that Wiles's cell phone had been hacked again, the White House refused to comment on this.

The case has brought attention back to an incident a year ago when US authorities launched an investigation after senators, governors and business leaders received messages and calls from a person claiming to be Trump's chief of staff. Wiles herself had told aides that her phone had been hacked.

It is not yet known what was discussed in the communications between Burnham and the person impersonating Trump's advisor, or how long the contact between them lasted.
