"Like it or not, we're going to take Greenland," Trump: We won't let China or Russia be US neighbors

President Donald Trump has expressed his determination that the US will succeed in acquiring Greenland, one way or another.

Trump made the comments as he was asked by reporters what would happen to the territory of Greenland and how much money he would offer Denmark for it.

Trump said he is not talking about money yet, but perhaps he could talk about it at another time.

"Right now, we're going to do something about Greenland, whether they like it or not, because if we don't, Russia or China will take Greenland and we won't have Russia or China as neighbors. Okay? I'd like to make a deal, you know, the easy way. But if we don't do it the easy way, we'll do it the hard way," Trump said, among other things.

We recall that after the US military operation in Venezuela, Trump has intensified his rhetoric about taking over Greenland.

On the other hand, the European Union has come out against his statements, saying that universal principles of state sovereignty should be applied.
