A British military plane carrying British Defense Secretary John Healey was hit by suspected Russian electronic interference during a flight from Estonia to Britain, losing its GPS signal for the entire three-hour journey.
According to The Telegraph, the incident occurred on May 21, when the RAF Dassault Falcon 900LX military aircraft was flying near the border with Russia.
It is reported that the plane's GPS system was completely disabled during the flight, while passengers' phones and laptops also lost their internet connection.
Among the passengers on board were photographers and a journalist, who were told the flight could continue without danger. The plane's path remained visible on public air-tracking platforms, although it remains unclear whether Healey himself was a direct target.
"This was an irresponsible intervention by Russia, but the Royal Air Force is well prepared for such activities," The Telegraph quoted a British defense source as saying.
The incident comes just days after the British Ministry of Defense revealed another dangerous collision over the Black Sea, where a Russian Su-35 fighter jet came so close to a British RAF Rivet Joint surveillance plane that it activated emergency systems and deactivated the autopilot.
