US fleet heading towards Iran

The US fleet is approaching the Persian Gulf and discussions are increasing about a military escalation against Iran. US President Donald Trump has given vague signals, saying only that "we will see if we have to use it."

Trump is wary of regime change, citing past U.S. experiences. He recalled the case of Iraq in 2003, when the regime was overthrown, but then ISIS emerged.

According to him, a similar scenario in Iran would be a big mistake. For this reason, despite pressure from some American media, Trump has not yet made a final decision.

Meanwhile, major changes are taking place in the Middle East. The US has reduced Israel's role and left more space for Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia have exploited this situation. In Syria, Kurdish forces have been weakened and have lost territory. The Syrian government has regained control of most of the country.

In the Gulf region, the United Arab Emirates has lost influence. Saudi Arabia has removed Emirati forces from Yemen and several other territories.

Even in Sudan and Libya, Emirati allies are under pressure.

Overall, Iran's influence in the region has weakened significantly, while a new axis is forming between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Syria. These developments do not coincide with Israel's interests./  La Stampa
