Attack at London's Heathrow Airport, one person arrested. Police: It's not terrorism!

Heathrow Airport was rocked this morning by an attack, which is suspected to have been carried out with pepper spray.

One person has been arrested on suspicion of assault, according to the Metropolitan Police, which added that this is not a terrorist attack or one related to protests.

It is suspected that several people affected by the attack have received the necessary medical assistance, but the exact number of those affected is not yet known.

Officers were called at 8:11 a.m. this morning after reports that several people had been attacked.

The airport has announced that its teams are cooperating with emergency services following an incident in the multi-storey car park of Terminal 3.

Investigations are still ongoing and police are looking for other suspects who may be involved.

According to National Rail, there are expected to be disruptions and delays of up to 10 minutes on the Elizabeth Line as a result of the incident.

Authorities are monitoring the situation and seeking to minimize impacts on public transportation.
