How the drama of Koçi Xoxes started

The General Directorate of Archives has recalled the launch of an ordeal against Koçi Xoxes, one of the central figures of the communist regime, from its beginnings.

"Like today, on October 31, 1948, Koçi Xoxe was dismissed from the post of Minister of Industry.

Attached to the video below, a report on the work of Xoxes, the decree of removal of parliamentary immunity and the decision to dismiss him from the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry", writes the Archive attached to the video dedicated to this figure of Albanian communism. then fell victim to it.

The former Minister of Internal Affairs was sentenced to death by Enver Hoxha, being accused of being a collaborator of the Yugoslavs. Four years after the liberation of the country, Koçi Xoxe, who until then was at the top of the power, was declared a traitor to the country. Precisely on November 28, 1948, he was arrested and a few months later, in May 1949, he was shot by the regime at that time. The remains of the man who was number two in the hierarchy of power after Enver Hoxha have not been found even today. There are many doubts as to why such a serious decision was taken by the dictator Hoxha for his most reliable man, that apart from being close during the war, they brought relations towards a consolidation, especially with the establishment of People's Power until the year 1948, where Koçi is arrested.
