Jurgis Çyrbja, a former Socialist Party MP from the Durrës district, was convicted on April 24, 2026 by the Special Court of Appeal, among other things, for active corruption in elections, as the Special Prosecution Office had several letters linking Çyrbja's re-candidate in the last parliamentary elections to influences from the underworld.

These letters were accepted with "blind eyes" by the courts, even with an accusation and punishment that even they themselves would not believe, if they analyzed it a little deeper, or at least clarified the whole story. If these characters from the underworld intervened to re-candidate him, who is responsible? The Çyrba or the leaders of the Socialist Party?!

Vox News has exclusively obtained documents from the investigative file against Jurgis Çyrbjas, which at first glance seem quite ridiculous, for all three criminal offenses, active corruption in elections, disclosure of state secrets and support for the perpetrator of the crime. Let's take them in turn;

One of the three charges filed by SPAK is related to the charge of active corruption in the elections, for an episode with citizen Altin Hajri. Vox News has analyzed the investigative file, which results in that at no point in the wiretaps on SKY EÇ is there any direct communication, a promise, request or a single response from Jurgis Çyrbja. How can you file such a charge, such as active corruption in the elections, when there is no evidence of guilt, interference, vote buying, etc.?

The prosecution links corruption to Jurgis Çyrbja's candidacy for deputy in the Durrës district, with the Socialist Party's logo. Is it his fault that he ran? What active corruption did Çyrbja commit while running as a deputy? Who did he corrupt?

The Special Prosecution Office has taken as witnesses Ardian Çela and Vangjush Dako, as the two political leaders of the Socialist Party in Durrës. More specifically, on December 11, 2024, Ardian Çela, former General Administrator of OSHEE, was questioned, to whom several questions were asked, first of all whether he was acquainted with Jurgis Çyrbjan, if so for how long and under what circumstances.

"I have known citizen Jurgis Çyrja for more than 10 years, I have known him as the chairman of the Socialist Party of the village of Xhafzotaj, where he lived and resided, and since then we have collaborated as members and associates of the Socialist Party, for the organization of the party in that area. Regarding the ranking of citizen Jurgis Çyrja for the 2021 parliamentary elections, I do not remember anyone meeting me or influencing anyone in the party organization, since in these elections we are talking about, the ranking was not important, since it was a majority system, so being placed in line was not a privilege ," Ardian Çela declared.

He was also asked about his acquaintance with citizen Altin Hajri, who is alleged to have influenced Jurgis Çyrbja to be included on the list for MPs.

"I met this citizen by chance many years ago in connection with the duty I had as General Director of OSHEE in 2015, and I have never met him in person, especially during the 2021 election period ," Çela claimed.

The next question was whether he talked with Vangjush Dako about the list and ranking of candidates for deputy of the Socialist Party's Durrës district.

"I want to let you know that the names of the candidates on the lists for MPs were discussed with a small group of people such as local representatives of the municipality of Durrës district and party officials, and I remember that the discussions were about the list in general and not specifically about the names on the list," he continued.

Clear evidence that refutes the claim that Hajri "sponsored" Çyrbja to be appointed as an MP!

The investigative file, a copy of which is also available to Vox News, details another very interesting episode, a direct testimony of a senior Socialist Party official, Vangjush Dako, who was asked if he had influenced Jurgis Çyrbja's inclusion on the lists. Dako was questioned on December 2, 2024, while the questions were the same as Çela, whether he knew Jurgis Çyrbja, for how long and under what circumstances.

"I have known him since 2012, I have known him as the chairman of the Socialist Party in Xhafzotaj, where he lived and resided, and since then we have collaborated as a member and associate of the Socialist Party, for the organization of the party in that area. The SP delegate in Durrës in 2021 was Ardian Çela, who consulted with local leaders. Regarding the ranking of citizen Jurgis Çyrbja, I do not remember anyone meeting me or influencing anyone in the organization, since in these elections we are talking about, the ranking was not important. Çyrbja was on the list for MPs in the 2013 parliamentary elections, in 2017 he was sixth on the list and declared the winner as MP, so he would also be part of the candidate list in 2021, since he had excellent results," Dako claims.

Dako was also asked if he knew Altin Hajri, as he testified that he did, but did not remember the circumstances, in the media or at the tables. The last question was whether he had discussed with Ardian Çela about the list of MPs.

"I don't remember exactly, but I believe so, but I want to let you know that we may have discussed the list in total, but not its specific ranking," concludes the testimony of the former mayor of Durrës.

Meanwhile, Vox News has learned that the file also includes a letter sent by defense attorney Ilir Murati to the Socialist Party regarding the criteria for the re-nomination of former MP Jurgis Çyrbja. The official response clarifies that "the selection was made based on the statute of the Socialist Party and that the candidacy list was signed by the party chairman." So, the list of candidates for MP in the 2021 parliamentary elections was drafted exclusively by Edi Rama, the Prime Minister of Albania.

On the basis of which statement, which evidence, or which person did the BKH agents and prosecutor Adnan Xholi rely on to reach the conclusion that Jurgis Çyrbja's candidacy is linked to Altin Hajri's interference? With which of the above-mentioned did Jurgis Çyrbja actively corrupt the elections?!
